The Village of Orangeville, Illinois, is nestled
along the banks of the Richland Creek, about two miles south of the
Illinois-Wisconsin border.
Founded in 1851 and settled primarily by people of German descent who were moving west from New York and Pennsylvania, Orangeville is now home to about 780 people, with 1,500 residing in the 61060 zip code. ![]() Orangeville is located in northern Stephenson County. Nearby cities include Rockford, Illinois (35 miles to the east), Dubuque, Iowa (60 miles to the west), and Monroe, Wisconsin (11 miles to the north). Harry Hartzell, editor of the Orangeville Alert from 1900-1938, called Orangeville "The Best Little Town on Earth," and the slogan stuck. Come see why!
